Ryan Reaves

Winnipeg native Ryan Reaves grew up surrounded by athletic pedigree – his father, Willard Reaves, was a CFL star with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Ryan gravitated toward hockey, starting at the age of 5 years old, bringing his competitive fire to the rink. He became known early on in his career for his physical style and team-first mentality, which carved him a path to the NHL, through grit, personality, and an irreplaceable presence.  

His career spanning over a decade has marked Reaves’ legacy as one of the NHL’s most respected enforcers and locker room leaders. He joined the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023, making an immediate impression by dropping the gloves with Montreal’s Arber Xjekaj in the season opener. Off the ice, he brought a new vibe to the locker room, even changing the team’s long-standing goal song to Kid Cudi’s Pursuit of Happiness. Reaves’ personality and presence leave a mark with every team and city, reminding fans that hockey can be hard-hitting and fun.
