Kaetlyn Osmond was born in Marystown, Newfoundland, where she first stepped onto the ice and discovered her love of skating. At just eight years old, she and her family made the decision to move across the country to support her dream, eventually settling in Edmonton. Since retiring in 2019, she has continued to share her passion through professional skating tours like Stars on Ice and Rock the Rink, and now serves as a coach and choreographer at the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club. A dedicated mentor, Kaetlyn often leads seminars for young athletes, encouraging them to find joy in the sport and confidence in themselves.
Over the course of her competitive career, Kaetlyn became one of Canada’s most accomplished figure skaters, winning three national titles, three Olympic medals, and the 2018 World Championships. She trained under longtime coach Ravi Walia and earned recognition for her artistry, athleticism, and resilience, overcoming numerous setbacks to become the most decorated Canadian women’s singles skater in history. Outside the rink, Kaetlyn is currently pursuing a degree in Media Studies and Creative Writing at the University of Alberta. She lives in Edmonton with her three dogs – Mack, Rascal, and Roxy – and her cat, Annie. When she’s not coaching or studying, she enjoys reading and making the most of sunny days.
