Erica Wiebe lit up the mat at Rio 2016, winning Olympic gold in dominant fashion in the women’s freestyle 75kg final with a 6-0 victory. Her high-energy celebration – hoisting her coach over her shoulders and parading him around the ring – made her an instant fan favourite, showcasing a personality as bold and vibrant as her wrestling talent. A two-time Olympian, World Bronze Medalist, and two-time Commonwealth Games champion, Erica is one of Canada’s most decorated wrestlers.

Outside the ring, she holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Calgary, as well as an MBA from Cornell and Queen’s. After Tokyo 2020, she worked for one of Canada’s fastest-growing fintech startups but soon felt the pull back to sport. In 2023, she joined the Canadian Olympic Committee as Manager of Athlete Relations, Safe Sport, and DEI. From starring in India’s Pro Wrestling League to attending a WWE training camp, Erica continues to embrace every opportunity with grit, heart, and unstoppable energy.
