At the 2012 London Olympics, Rosie MacLennan captured hearts and history by winning Canada’s only individual gold medal, rising from fourth place in the final to the top of the podium. Her charm and grace made her a national sweetheart, and she followed up with another golden performance at the 2015 Pan Am Games in her hometown of Toronto. In Rio 2016, after overcoming serious head injuries, she led Team Canada as Flag Bearer and made history again by becoming the first Canadian summer Olympian to defend an individual title, claiming her second Olympic gold in trampoline.
Off the trampoline, Rosie has pursued academic excellence with a master’s degree focused on social change through sport and is now completing an MBA at Stanford University. Even after an ankle injury ahead of Tokyo 2020, she fought back to finish fourth, showing that perseverance can be just as powerful as a medal. Rosie continues to lead in sport as Chair of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Athlete Commission and as a Jumpstart Ambassador, championing youth participation – especially for young girls.
