In his first Olympic Games, Steven Dubois became Beijing’s breakout short-track star. Coming off an overall win at the 2021 Canadian Championships, Steven solidified Team Canada’s dominance in short track, completing the distinctly Canadian natural hat trick of the gold, silver, and bronze Olympic medals.

Following the whirlwind of the Olympics, Dubois reflected on his astonishing performances in Beijing 2022 with a simple maxim:

“It’s always the same track, never the same race. You have to be perfect to win.”

Steven, who holds the national 500m record in both the Junior and Senior levels, further proved his dominance when he was crowned the 500m Vice World Champion in 2023. He capped off his season with two more gold medals at the 2024 World Cup in Gdansk, Poland.

His pursuit of perfection will only continue as he aims to bring more hardware home for Team Canada at Milan 2026.
