Mitch Marner's history with Toronto runs deep.
Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, Mitch has played his entire career in Southern Ontario – from his early years with the Vaughan Kings, Don Mills Flyers and St. Michael's Buzzers and then on to the London Knights.
Along the way, he learned how to score, and to win, at every level including a GTHL Championship, OJHL Championship, and a Memorial Cup Championship.
With a gifted offensive touch, Marner joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as a promising rookie and the fourth overall draft pick.
By the end of the 2016-17 season, he was the franchise's all-time rookie leader in assists and had established an NHL-wide reputation as a preeminent playmaker.
Following a short playoff run with the Maple Leafs, Hockey Canada offered him a spot on the 2017 IIHF World Championship roster.
Eager to play for Team Canada, Marner tallied 12 points in only 10 games and contributed to a silver medal-winning performance.
Now, as part of a young, entertaining and energetic core of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mitch is looking to bring his winning ways to one of the most storied franchises in professional sports.
For Mitch, and his hometown Maple Leafs, the future looks almost as bright as the past.
